Last blog we introduced you to Micki, now please meet Shoshana!
Shoshana is a very busy teen, and most of the activities she is involved attests to her dedication to helping others and supporting her local community. She leads her school’s Kiva Club, an organization dedicated to alleviating poverty and empowering people and communities through micro leading. Her other school activities include serving on it’s diversity executive board, sitting on the Youth Leadership Council for the Missouri Gay Straight Alliance (GSA), participating in her school’s Gender Equity Organization (GEO) and she is a delegate in the St. Louis Model United Nations.
Additionally, Shoshana serves as a Youth Ambassador for Safe Connections, which provides assistance to survivors of rape and domestic abuse. She also works with the Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC), a program where she visits schools with little or no Jewish presence to talk about what it’s like to be a Jewish teen in St. Louis.
Even with this full schedule she finds time to have fun. Shoshana enjoys acting in school and community plays. She shares that her “weirdest” talents are that she can croak like a frog and she is quite adept at circus acrobatics, excelling in aerial skills.
We asked her to list some of her favorite things; her favorite color is lilac, her favorite book is Savage Inequalities by Jonathan Kozol, her favorite author is Susannah Cahalan and her favorite subject in school is Physics.
Her future plans include college and grad school, she sees herself in grad school as a research assistant, but is leaving the door wide open for the possibility of one day being an actor. Her future travel plans include a trip to Spain.
As for Snotes, “I love bringing Snotes into people’s lives,” says Shoshana. “The best part about Snotes is the look you see in somebody’s eyes at the moment they figure out the code.” And, to whom does she send Snotes to the most? “My friend, Emma, who lives in Michigan.
We thank Ambassador Shoshana for all she does in promoting Snotes and for being such an amazing community leader! Now that you’ve met Shoshana and Micki, check out their video about What’s a Snote?
